Sir Michael Fallon, former British Member of Parliament and the Secretary of State for Defence (2014-17)

Sir Michael Fallon is a former British Member of Parliament and the Secretary of State for Defence (2014-17). Sir Michael was first elected to Parliament in 1983. He has served as a Minister in four Conservative governments. He was Schools Minister under Margaret Thatcher and John Major; Business and Energy Minister under David Cameron, and Defence Secretary for both David Cameron and Theresa May.

Appointed to the Cabinet as Defence Secretary in July 2014, Sir Michael had overall responsibility for the armed forces and a £35 billion annual budget.  He had charge of the British contribution to the counter-Daesh campaign in Iraq and Syria, and led the Strategic Defence and Security Review of 2015. He represented the UK at the NATO summits in Wales, Warsaw and Brussels.

Sir Michael is presently Deputy Chairman of the oil company Genel Energy PlC, and also writes and broadcasts on defence and security matters.



Bill Frain, CEO & Director, Liberty Defense

With 30 years of experience in the security technology industry, Bill was the former Senior Vice President for L-3 Security & Detection Systems (NYSE – LHX), the world’s leading supplier of security inspection systems. In this role Bill led global sales, business development, & key account management. Previously, Bill was the CFO at Vivid Technologies prior to its acquisition by PerkinElmer which led to the eventual sale of the security and detection systems division to L-3 Technologies.

 



Francis Bellido, CEO, Quantum Emotion

Dr. Bellido has over 35 years of international experience in Cybersecurity, Healthcare and Financial industries and was appointed CEO of Quantum eMotion Corp. in January of 2020. Dr. Bellido has an MBA, a MSc. in pharmaceutical sciences and a Ph.D. in sciences from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and he has published over 40 original manuscripts and communications in peer reviewed scientific journals.

 


 

Dominic O’Dierno, Co-Founder & Executive VP, Q5id

Dominic O’Dierno is the Executive Vice President and co-founder of Q5id. In 2001 he co-founded SureID Inc., the leading provider of identity management and access control solutions for the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, serving as its Senior VP of Strategic Development. Dominic was responsible for SureID’s intellectual property, strategic partnerships, capital funding requirements and investor relations.

 



Martin Cronin, Executive Chairman, Syniad Innovations

Martin spent over 20 years in international diplomacy with the British Government with appointments across the Middle East, South Asia, Europe and North America spanning counter-terrorism, conflict resolution, trade and inward investment. Following a posting as Consul-General to Western Canada, Martin joined the private sector, serving as CEO and Director of several private and public companies in the public safety and defence sectors, including Patriot One Technologies (PAT:TSX), before joining Syniad Innovations in 2021.Martin has a BA in International History and Politics with Economics from the University of Leeds.
